Room Mate Mario

Location. All of the top tourist attractions are in walking distance from this hotel. Closest metro station (Opera) is 100 m away. We've arrived very late, but there was no issue with checking in after midnight. Even though the hotel is in the center, there were no annoying noises. C. de Campomanes is very quiet and calm. Beds are comfortable, and we could rest after busy days of sightseeing. Breakfasts were nice. Worth the price. Fresh rolls, good Spanish ham, croissants, fruit. Good coffee. WIFI worked fine.

The location was great as it was in middle of city centre and the hotel rooms were comfortable and clean. Staff were very friendly.

The location of the hotel is nice - 2 minutes to Opera metro station and 5 minutes walking distance to the Royal Palace of Madrid. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful - especially the receptionist girls were quite ready to help. Thank you chicas!! 😊 The rooms were nicely cleaned, and the amenities provided were of good quality. The room was spacious, but not very convenient in terms of storage space. We brought 2 suitcases, but couldn't find a place to put the larger one. The bed was large and comfortable. On the first day of our stay, bottled water was provided, but it was stated that it couldn't be provided for the other days of our stay. Since we preferred not to drink tap water, even though they couldn't provide bottled water, they allowed us to fill our bottles from the water dispenser at the reception. The breakfast was varied and delicious. The fact that breakfast service lasted until 12 was an extra convenience. Unfortunately, there was a bad smell coming from the toilet, and when we came out and entered the room, we were exposed to this bad smell. Since we were only staying for 2 days, we didn’t request a room change, but when we mentioned the situation to the receptionist, they expressed their willingness to help and said that if we allowed, they would enter the room to check it. As an alternative, they mentioned that they could give us another room to sleep in by leaving our belongings in the current room. We didn’t want to bother, but when we returned to the room, the smell had significantly decreased.​

Perfect location ,lovely hotel,beautifully clean and comfortable. The staff were lovely especially the man who checked us in on the evening we arrived .2nd September. He was very kind and helpful and really helped me out by listening to my attempts to communicate in Spanish. Very useful for practicing my language skills. Muchas gracias Senor!x No food options but plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. Loved the little pack of complimentary sweets and the welcome card in the room.

Very comfy bed in a small room. Two windows, both of them overlooking gloomy brick walls. Check-in process was a bit lengthy, this can be avoided with adding an extra clerk during peak hours, or asking for details in advance (e.g. passport number). Excellent location, couldn't be better. Decent breakfast much appreciated.
